Continuing Education Classes
The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires that all licensees complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of Continuing Education (including an update and an elective course) by June 10 of each year in order to renew a license on active status. All necessary books are included in our course fee.
Ethics Training:
REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of no less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time within each three-year cycle. The next cycle begins January 1, 2025 and ends on December 31, 2027. So, the ethics deadline is 12/31/2027 for this cycle.
If you take the Ethic's course offered by Intracoastal Real Estate Academy you will meet the requirements for your elective hours as well.
General Update Course:
The General Update Course is a 4 hour course that must be completed by all provisional brokers and non-BIC brokers and must be completed by June 10th annually.
BIC Update:
The BICUP course combines topics from the old BICAR course and the annual update course into a single 4-hour course. Brokers-in-Charge (“BIC”) and brokers wishing to remain BIC eligible must take the BICUP course and an Elective CE course to fulfill the mandatory 8-hour CE requirement by June 10th annually.
Elective:
In addition to either the General Update or BIC Update your are required to take a 4 hr elective to complete your 8 hrs of continuing education credits. Intracoastal Real Estate Academy offers a variety of electives to choose from.
